Beautiful Thunder Lake Michigan is nestled in the heart of the western portion of
the Hiawatha National Forest. The lake is approximately 340 acres. Several
springs and creeks feed this white sandy bottom lake with depths up to 20
feet.
Pike, Walleye, Perch, Crappie inhabit the lake but it is known
for it's Bluegill fishing. Ice fishing has a unique appeal to sportsmen
this time of year.
With a generous helping of snow, Snowmobilers have a wide range of groomed
trails, two tracks and the local Thunder Bowl. Probably the one thing that
the Hiawatha can guarantee is a white holiday, come on up to the UP and check it
out.
