Beautiful Thunder Lake is nestled in the heart of the western portion of
the Hiawatha National Forest. The lake is approximately 340 acres. Several
springs and creeks feed this white sandy bottom lake with depths up to 20
feet.
Pike, Walleye, Perch, Crappie inhabit the lake but it is known
for it's Bluegill fishing. Catches from 8-10 inches are common.
Large and Small Mouth bass of good size are abundant in this lake. At least
1/3 of the lake is National Forest shoreline on this all sports lake.
Upper Thunder is good for kayaking, canoeing and small row boat,
great for wildlife viewing and fishing. Upper Thunder lake is home to
several mating pairs of Bald Eagles that you can seen soaring above the lake on a
regular basis.
There are numerous day hike trails within a short drive of
the lake, explore the National Forest during the day and reward yourself
with a spectacular lakeside sunset in the evening.

Thunder Lake is available for rent together or separately. The Lodge is
capable of accommodating up to 15 individuals.

to the lodge is a quaint 2 bedroom 1 bath cabin with it's own gazebo to
enjoy magnificent sunsets or sunrises on thunder lake.
This gorgeous lakefront cottage comes with a million dollar
view and large white sandy beach. We listen to our guests and now offer
satellite TV.
